A Shepherd's Retreat welcomes you and your companions for a fantastic exploration of team development at The Gathering Place. Located at the foot of Whitehorse Mountain, A Shepherd's Retreat is one of the few remaining original homestead farms in the Stillaguamish Valley. It was recently renovated and developed with small executive retreats in mind. The views, the space, and the peace offered here allow for reflection, creativity, and new paths forward.
The barn houses The Gathering Place: a 600ft² room perfect for small executive retreats: media presentations, classes, discussions, and meals all in one spot. The adjacent kitchen in the barn (renovated from the original milk room) makes it convenient for you and your group to self-cater, or we can assist with catering for meals or coffee breaks. An adjacent garden area allows for small breakouts or fresh air enjoyment - including a water trough for ice baths to build team resilience!
The farm includes the original homestead cabin, which was remodeled and updated in 2018. With four bedrooms and two baths, overnight accommodation is possible. The farm work features unique partnerships between canines, Border Collies, and Livestock Guardian Dogs, working for the flock's welfare. The shepherdess, dogs, sheep, horses, and cats work together to run the farm. These partnerships work well due to an essential understanding of "the other": effective communication is vital!
Your retreat can be structured for privacy, or you can include some outdoor team activities that feature sheep penning or equine learning activities. With over 30 years of experience in cross-cultural communication and leadership development, Lynne is happy to assist in program planning.
